Mixed media droplets

This has a complicated history. First I painted the background on 300g cellulose paper with a mix of Van Dyke Brown and Prussian Blue oil color leftovers from some other painting. This dried probably for a few weeks. Then I had some zinc white leftover from yet another painting, and that created the nice wood texture (which was by no means a part of any plan). This dried for a couple months. Then I drew the droplet outlines with a black colored pencil, and the highlights with titanium white oil paint, which I blended to death and back. And voila! Really happy with the result.
